Kayla's scholarly interests are focused on feminist rhetorical practices, theory, and pedagogy. She uses these frameworks to study the rhetoric of published food memoirs and student learning. The blend of narrative structure, identity construction, and lived experience in nonfiction life writing, student work, and feminist and rhetorical frameworks is what inspired the connections between these ideas and constructs.
